Surf City Splash canceled due to sewage spill, recent rains

The popular Surf City Splash was canceled Saturday, Jan. 1, due to poor ocean conditions, leaving revelers high and dry for the third year in a row. Last year, the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and in 2019 it was called off due to strong winds.
