John Diaz was a Huntington Beach resident, Sgt. Anthony Pham said. The crash was reported about 6:50 p.m. Friday on Slater Avenue, west of Keelson Lane, Pham said. The preliminary investigation showed that Diaz was walking outside a crosswalk when he was struck by the eastbound Chevrolet Silverado,
